The design of Studio B is truly a trip into the past. Though it does have some modern day technology, it's mainly a nostalgic step back in time. Conceived to be highly reminiscent of the studios that were responsible for the great recordings created during the mid-sixties to late-seventies era, this room is destined to become a favorite (or should we say "favourite"?) place for the artists and/or producers who can still appreciate magnificence of Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound", the splendor of "Pet Sounds", or the intimate images of the Beatles' "Let It Be" sessions at Abbey Road. All of this and more lives again within the confines of these walls. As the design stage for this room progressed, we came to the conclusion that this studio would be as much a "tribute" to the past as it was a celebration of today's technology. As the old saying goes, "New isn't always better". Concrete evidence of that adage lies in the fact that so many microphones, processors and other devices from years past cost many times as much today as they did when they were new. We haven't neglected new technology; we've embraced the old. While a great deal of time was spent hand picking the electronics for the room, the interior design and layout was just as critical. A step into the room will be quite like a journey in time. A hybrid concoction of past reflections and future dreams. Obviously we don't have any pictures to show you since the studio isn't completed. We only hope that, after browsing the information listed below, you'll close your eyes and let your mind take you on a passionate and memorable trip to an era of greatness that will forever be cherished and respectfully admired. |
